Welcome to MacCORE
We are MacCORE- Kansas City's Macintosh Computer Owners Resource Exchange. Our group is about Apple users helping each other. If you are new to the Mac, you need support, and you need someone to answer your basic questions. That someone should be interested in your success. MacCORE is a not-for-profit User's Group serving the Greater Kansas City area. We have lots of beginners, lots of experts and plenty of friendly folks who are in between. MacCORE is all about making information and advice available.

May Meeting
MacCORE member Kevin Holm will be discussing "Mac Maintenance and Backups".
"What should I be doing on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to maintain my Mac? What maintenance programs and utilities are out there that I can use to repair and maintain my Mac? What is backing up? Should I be backing up? What types of backups are there? What should I be backing up? What drives should I use? Applications to use? Media to use? And if my Mac does fail, how do I get the data off of my backup and back onto my computer?"
These and other questions will be discussed. And lastly, we will look at Mac OS X Leopard's newest feature, Time Machine.

Image editors - free and low cost
Adobe came out recently with a free online image editor called Photoshop Express. Have you tried it yet? This month we look at Express and explore other free editors that are out, along with a Photoshop Elements, which isn't free, but almost as good as Photoshop itself.

MacCORE just went green. We are making our newsletter available in PDF format now. The Post Office was not able to get the newsletter out on time, and we would like to do our part to help the environment.

On Saturday August 4th, MacCORE had its second Photo Walk at the City Market. We would like to thank the five members who met early at 6 am to have some fun shooting photos during the "Corn Festival" at the City Market. Check out the photos HERE.
